The Wiersbe Study Bible | Review

study bibile

This Bible in the NKJV translation is a study Bible to help people comprehend and study the Bible. The study information throughout was interesting and informative, and Dr. Wiersbe outlines right away why he is qualified to be giving this information.

Flipping through, I was honestly kind of underwhelmed by the amount of resources available throughout the book. This is also a big hunk of a hardcover Bible, which makes it very heavy and not so easy to lug around. I’ve also come to prefer Bibles that have lines on the sides for notes, especially in a study Bible, which this didn’t have.

Overall, I would probably recommend a different Bible over this one, though it would definitely be useful still. I’m sure it’s a great Bible inside, there are just certain elements I think they could have made better. I am giving this 3 stars.

Ice Castles

At the end of January, I headed to Lake Geneva, WI to see the famous winter ice castles. Each year, the city of Lake Geneva brings a company in to build amazing, interactive ice castles, complete with rooms, ice slides, and even a throne.

It was a freezing cold night, barely above 0, but I am so glad we went because these castle truly took my breath away. I had the wonder of a child as I explored caverns, crawled through tunnels, and flew down slides of ice.

Truly, these castles are fit for a queen.

365 Devotions to Love God and Love Others Well | Review

365

This book has a devotional for each day of a year, labeled January 1st through December 31st (even with February 29th!). It’s a short paragraph or two, a verse, and a prayer to help readers think about the ways in which they can show love to others and, by doing so, worship God.

I did like this, it made me think about the way I treat other people and I saw ways i needed to change. However, I have read a few other of these “365 Devotions to….” books, and while I enjoyed this, I didn’t think I liked it quite as much, or that it resinated as much, as the others.

Overall, I have this 3/5 stars.

Whispers and Wildflowers by Sarah Beth Marr | Review

whispers

Whispers and Wildflowers: 30 Days to Slow your Pace, Savor Scripture, & Draw Closer to God by Sarah Beth Marr is a guide for women to slow down and savor the things God puts into our lives every day. While meant to be read a chapter per day for 30 days, the author encourages readers to read it however they want to, and at whatever pace.

This book is for women who are distracted, depleted, stressed out, and overwhelmed with our busy and demanding lives. She offers a solution: to slow down and refocus on Jesus. With charm, understanding, and humor, Marr guides readers in how to take that time each day to slow down and reconnect with God, in order to bring peace back into our crazy lives.

I loved reading this book and I think I took a huge benefit from it. I’d definitely recommend this to stressed out women everywhere. I gave this 4/5 stars.

Rocky Mountain Weekend

I recently had the incredible opportunity to surprise my friend and spend a week with her in Colorado. Her boyfriend flew a few of her friends and I from Wisconsin to Colorado, where we showed up at their house and surprised her on her birthday!

We spent an amazing weekend exploring her adorable town in the Rocky Mountains. She showed us her favorite places to hike and see the views of the mountains.

It was an amazing weekend spent hiking and driving through the mountains. It was amazing spending time with my friend, and having her show us her town. On the way back to Denver to fly home, we even got to stop at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater for some last minute hiking and exploring.

Overall, I had an amazing weekend!!!
